ALEX is a Learning Management system that serves as a central resource foronline medical education content and computer-based learning activities.  Everycourse, clerkship, and elective in undergraduate medical education hasan ALEX site that supports teaching, learning and collaboration througha series of integrated web-based tools.  ALEXreplaces the Curriculum Materials Management System and Curriculum WebSites and includes many new features and functionality

ALEX empowers faculty and students to have greatercontrol of their course content and gives them new tools to extendtheir teaching beyond the borders of the traditional classroom.  The system upon which ALEX is based (Sakai, http://www.sakaiproject.org) was developed by a consortium of Universities and is specifically designed to support the needs of higher education. - Division of Educational Informatics (DEI)
